Help. After 10 years with this thing (bought new in August 2012), I finally got a notification that service is recommended on my battery. The cycle count is at 2,166, and the max according to Apple is 1,000. Apparently it's about $260 in Canada to replace a MacBook Pro battery, although I'm not sure if they will still service a 10 year old laptop.

I wrote to iFixit and they mailed me another fix kit with the replacement battery including the waterproof adhesive. It could just be that my first battery was at slightly less than 100% and the battery was good apart from that. I will update after installing the replacement. Hx_5 • 1 yr. ago.
That was present on the iPhone 11 with 81% battery health. There’s no need to waste money to buy a brand new iPhone 14, unless you really want an OLED screen, which is superior to the IPS LCD screen on the iPhone 11. Oh and that you have to pay at least $700 versus just $69 for the battery replacement. Up to you, really.

A lot of sources say get a new battery at around 80%, but Apple’s guidance says from iPhone 11 onwards, there are new processes (and hardware I think) that actually stop performance throttling so it’s no longer an issue.
